Volume 1 Chapter 5: Military Training

“Ning Chu’s really trash at gaming—he doesn’t even recognize half the skills, and he keeps zoning out.”

“After you guys went to sleep last night, I played with him for two hours and we didn’t win a single match.”

8 AM, university sports field.

The four roommates had arrived and were now sitting cross-legged on the grass. Wen Yang was in the middle of roasting Ning Chu’s terrible gaming performance.

“So that’s why he never games with us—dude’s just garbage.”

“Hey, Ning Chu, why are you zoning out again?”

Ning Chu was sitting a little ways off, alone. He hugged his knees and curled into a ball, resting his chin on them as he stared blankly into space.

At Zhang Shaoqing’s question, he sluggishly turned his head and cast a weak glance at them. “I have a stomach ache.”

Since 6 AM, a persistent cramp in his lower abdomen had jolted him awake—and it hadn’t stopped. The dull pain continued gnawing at him.

“Did you eat something bad?”

Shaoqing, who was supposed to be the future villain of the novel, scooted closer and asked with rare concern.

Ning Chu curled up tighter, his lips pale. He grumbled, “Probably that Sichuan place. Knew something was off.”

“Really? I didn’t feel anything.” Zhang Shaoqing turned to the others. “Do any of you have stomach issues? If that place really gave us food poisoning, I’ll go raise hell at noon.”

“Nope,” Wen Yang said, shaking his head. “Maybe Ning Chu just can’t handle spicy food.”

“My head just hurts a bit from the booze.” Wang Jie groaned and flopped backward onto the grass like a corpse.

Since no one else had issues, Zhang Shaoqing turned his attention back to Ning Chu. “We’re about to line up. Want to hit the bathroom real quick?”

“Forget it.”

If that would’ve helped, he wouldn’t still be in pain now.

He suspected he’d brought his chronic gastritis from his past life into this one.

Fortunately, the pain wasn’t severe—just constant and energy-draining.

“Line up! Let’s go!”

Their homeroom teacher spotted the slackers on the grass and rushed over, giving Wen Yang a swift kick in the rear. “Move it! Did you not eat breakfast? Don’t embarrass yourself on the first day of training!”

“Breakfast? What’s that?”

“We woke up at 7:50, how the hell would we have time for food?”

The group laughed and bickered as they got up and followed the assistant toward their class formation. Ning Chu trudged after them, eyes half-closed, completely listless.

When the lineup was set, he was placed in the front row due to his short height. He was annoyed at first—until he glanced sideways and saw the legally petite D-cup loli standing next to him.

He instantly re-energized.

Looking further back in the line of female students, he saw not just lolis and high school girl types—but mature big-sister types, beast-ear girls, succubi, and even elves.

Not only was there a wide variety of types—they even had non-human girls.

As expected of a hentai world.

Ning Chu straightened his back.

Compared to the 4’7” girl next to him, his own height finally felt respectable. His previously shameful short stature had somehow become a point of pride.

The setup was nearly identical to his past life’s university military training: freshmen standing in neat lines, and school leadership rambling on and on from the stage at the front.

The early morning sun gradually turned harsh. At first, Ning Chu had been admiring the girl beside him, but the heat and the endless speeches soon made his eyelids grow heavy. He started yawning non-stop.

Do school leaders in every world love spouting nonsense...?

Their words went in one ear and out the other. Ning Chu yawned and clutched his aching belly, swaying slightly as he stood in place.

By the time he came back to his senses, a military instructor had already appeared in front of the line.

“March in step! Follow me!”

Wait a second.

There weren’t any military training chapters in the novel, were there?

Still half-dazed, Ning Chu followed the instructor's steps, mentally combing through the story.

Yep. None at all.

That meant during the two weeks of military training, he didn’t need to worry about his roommates—one turning into a harem-collecting scumbag, and the other blackening into a villain because of the plot.

Just that thought was enough to lift Ning Chu’s spirits, despite the cramps still gnawing at him.

The class followed their instructor to a corner of the field and lined up neatly under his guidance, standing upright with arms straight at their sides.

“Stand at attention. Ten minutes.”

Even though this was a hentai world, the people still seemed surprisingly normal—as long as no plot had been triggered yet.

Ning Chu had originally worried that the worldview here would be too “open-minded,” but after spending some time around these people, he found they weren’t much different from those in his previous world.

Military training was boring—especially when standing at attention.

The sun overhead grew hotter and hotter, sweat forming on his forehead and back. His abdominal cramps surged with renewed intensity, forcing him to furrow his brow and focus his energy on bearing the pain.

His fingers began to go numb. The tingling spread slowly to his limbs, and even his breathing became unconsciously labored.

Then, Ning Chu realized something was very wrong.

His every movement was suddenly hard. He tried to step forward—but the moment his foot lifted, his mind went completely blank.

By the time he regained awareness, he found himself already sitting on the ground.

He instinctively looked around. The entire class had turned their eyes toward him.

His face flushed hot with embarrassment.

He never imagined he’d be the first one in the class to collapse—not even the girls had gone down yet.

“Ning Chu, you okay?”

Wen Yang had run over and squatted beside him, worry etched on his face. “What happened? Why’d you suddenly fall?”

“Just… got a little dizzy, that’s all.”

Zhang Shaoqing came over too, immediately launching into a jab, “Bro, your stamina’s worse than a girl’s. Seriously. You should just take a trip to Thailand already.”

This villain’s mouth is actual garbage.

Ning Chu glared at him, clearly annoyed. “I’ve had a stomach ache all morning—thanks to the food you made us eat last night.”

“We’re all fine though. You sure you’re not just on your period?”

Zhang Shaoqing’s teasing tone was meant to be harmless, but the words struck like thunder.

Ning Chu’s pupils shrank violently—his entire body froze.

What the hell?! Period?!

There’s no way right?!

Just then, the instructor came over. Seeing that Ning Chu was still conscious, he clapped Wen Yang’s shoulder. “You two, take him to the infirmary. Get him some glucose water.”

“Make sure he eats breakfast tomorrow before training, or he’ll pass out again.”

“Come on, let’s go.”

Wen Yang gave Ning Chu a gentle nudge. “Don’t zone out like that.”

Zhang Shaoqing leaned in with a smirk and waved a hand in front of his dazed face. “He didn’t faint again, did he?”

“N-No…”

Ning Chu shook himself back to reality. With the two of them supporting him, he stood up—his color slowly returning.

It’s clear that Zhang Shaoqing was just joking, there’s no reason for him to be shaken.

And besides, he had already checked his new body thoroughly these past few days—he still had everything a man was supposed to have! No parts missing!
