Volume 1 Chapter 49: Good roommate

Back to Novel

"I finally got him back..."

Ning Chu's heart finally settled after returning to his dormitory.

At least there wouldn’t be some fox-girl seducing Wen Yang in their residence, right?

"Wang Jie, help me return this trolley, it's from that Sichuan restaurant we ate at earlier."

"Sure."

Ning Chu sat on the chair backward, leaning against the backrest with his arms crossed and staring blankly at Wen Yang lying on the floor.

A bamboo mat covered the ground, and Ning Chu had even placed a thin blanket over Wen Yang to keep him warm.

"Oh, and your ice cream and drinks." He put the drinks he brought for his roommates on the table. "Please grab them yourself later."

"Okay," Zhang Shaoqing yawned. "What kind of mess is this? And you just happened to witness it?"

The corners of Ning Chu's lips curled up slightly as he mumbled, "This guy always attracts trouble; what can I do?"

And that was only the beginning...

He rested his head on one arm, feeling a headache coming on.

"I'm going to play games now."

Your roommate has been drugged and passed out, and you're going straight to play games?

Ning Chu sighed softly, then continued staring at Wen Yang's face. It must be said that the main protagonist's looks were indeed outstanding—elegant yet masculine, with well-proportioned muscles—and most importantly, as the protagonist of a hentai story, Wen Yang also has a large dick, enough to mind break any of the girls that he end up conquered in the story.

With his protagonist halo, Wen Yang's suitors were practically lining up around the block, which made him even more headache-prone.

The female characters in the novel could be kept under control, but he was worried about the nameless and faceless extras suddenly swooping in for the kill.

"What am I gonna do?"

Soon, Ning Chu lost interest in worrying over Wen Yang's sexual well-being.

A sourness slowly brewed within his chest, making him subconsciously furrow his brow.

It was obvious that his chest had become bigger.

At present, it was only possible to see slight contours of his muscles from the side, but...

He disinterestedly pulled one hand away, glanced at Zhang Shaoqing, who still faced away from him, then gently pressed down on his chest.

What had been merely a thin layer of soft flesh not long ago was now noticeably thicker.

Ning Chu's lips twitched slightly; he suddenly regretted his decision.

If he let the plot run its natural course and allowed Wen Yang to be a chad who conquered women left and right, perhaps he wouldn't have transformed from a short child to a trap in two weeks' time, becoming some kind of gender-bent freak whose appearance couldn't be easily identified as male or female.

At least, the time he would end up becoming a woman would be longer than what is now, right?

Not only that, because he repeatedly stopped Wen Yang from having sex with the named female characters, he'd unwittingly offended quite a few girls.

He had no cash left and couldn't even afford to buy food.

The days ahead would undoubtedly be difficult.

All thanks to Wen Yang!

Seeing that Wen Yang was still lying on the bamboo mat without moving a muscle, Ning Chu decided to take a bath and check with the System exactly where his feminization was occurring and how severe it was. But just as he stood up and opened the wardrobe, the cell phone resting on the table vibrated once again.

Ning Chu glanced at the caller ID; only one word was noted above: Mom.

He paused, then frowned slightly before pursing his lips and picking up the phone to walk toward the balcony.

Leaning against the railing, he answered the call but didn't immediately speak.

He really didn't know what to call her.

"Hello? Little Ning?"

"..."

"It's almost the holiday. When are you coming home?"

The voice from the other end of the line was lively yet gentle, the tone soft like that of a young maiden, yet filled with love for her child.

Ning Chu felt a prickling sensation at the tip of his nose, and his heart twinged slightly. He suddenly realized that this voice sounded very much like his late mother's.

"I... probably won't be able to make it..."

"You won't?"

"Mm-hmm."

Without asking why, the other side let out a cheerful laugh. "Then Mom will go traveling by herself."

Even her personality seemed very similar.

"You don't have money at the end of every month again, do you? Mom transferred two thousand yuan to your account; it should be enough for you to spend."

"It's more than enough."

"Eat some meat and buy some fruit every day, I remember how short you are."

Ning Chu remained silent, listening to his mother nag about the usual things: food, clothes, whether he had found a girlfriend, and his grades.

He always responded with silence, occasionally acknowledging her words.

As he recalled his mother from back then, he realized that although he felt as if he remembered her clearly, upon careful reflection, he couldn't recall what she looked like or even what they talked about. By the time he hung up the phone, half an hour had already passed.

His expression was blank as he stood dumbly on the spot, leaning against the balcony railing, unconsciously gazing skyward. In the endless darkness, a single star shone faintly amidst the void.

Suddenly, Ning Chu realized that perhaps traveling to this world wasn't entirely bad for him either.

"Ning Chu?"

A raspy male voice came from behind him. Without thinking, Ning Chu turned around only to see Wen Yang holding his head while leaning against the doorframe. "Why am I in the dormitory?"

"And, how come your eyes are red?"

Ning Chu quickly pulled himself together and guiltily avoided Wen Yang's gaze. "Well.. I was passing by the food stall when I saw you drunk outside; I brought you back here on my way home."

"What?"

Zhang Shaoqing's desk happened to be right next to the balcony door, so he leaned back and tilted his head, calling out with astonished delight, "Oh wow! So you didn't see Wen Yang fainting and then crying outside?"

"Fainted?" Wen Yang started.

Ning Chu's face darkened, completely dissipating that fleeting hint of emotion from earlier. "Don't just make stuff up! Why would I cry?!"

Zhang Shaoqing darted out of the dormitory at top speed, leaving Ning Chu fuming behind him.

Only then did Ning Chu turn around to explain to Wen Yang, "That fox girl drugged your drink, and I happened to stumble on you before she could do anything about it."

"Drugged?" Wen Yang shuddered. "Sounds terrifying."

In the original novel, you seemed quite pleased about it, and by the end of it, even reluctant to leave their bed.

But this kind of thing happening in reality is indeed terrifying. Moreover, Wen Yang only felt the terror of being drugged; he hadn't yet experienced the comfort of having sex  with a mature fox girl.

"I told you not to drink." Ning Chu crossed his arms, his voice low and threatening as he shook his head. "The world nowadays is full of treacherous people... if she took you away, who knows where you'd end up—maybe even in a black mine forced to work under dangerous conditions. Judging by your physique, you could probably replace two workers."

"Or maybe they'd just cut out your kidneys and sell you off somewhere as a sex slave? Who knows?" Ning Chu continued mockingly.

Wen Yang's face paled from fright, feeling his kidney ache slightly.

"Be more careful in the future!" Seeing that his words had taken effect, Ning Chu's mood immediately lifted quite a bit. "All those girls out there are wicked!"

Wen Yang solemnly nodded, then turned to look at Ning Chu with eyes that were warmer than usual. He let out a bitter laugh and sighed, "From now on, I won't drink alcohol outside."

"That's right! You can't touch a drop of liquor or smoke a single cigarette!"

He didn't know how to thank Ning Chu, whose worry had caused him to secretly cry on the balcony.

What a good roommate—if only Ning Chu were a girl, Wen Yang would gladly marry him!
